Vedder Price seeks a midlevel associate with 3-6 years of employee benefits and executive compensation experience to join its nationally-recognized Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Group.  Candidates should have strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently in a fast-paced environment, well developed legal research skills and experience drafting contracts and benefit plans. This position will be involved in both transactional deal work and day-to-day advising on all aspects of employee benefits and executive compensation. Vedder Price’s Chicago office seeks a mid-level associate with 4-6 years of M&A and general corporate experience for its Finance & Transactions Group.  Candidates should have experience with structuring, drafting and negotiating merger and acquisition agreements, commercial contracts and other corporate agreements and documentation.  Experience with private equity is preferred but not required.  Candidates must have strong academic backgrounds, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently in a fast-paced and intellectually challenging environment.  Candidates with a business, accounting or MBA background are preferred.  In addition, candidates must be admitted to the Illinois Bar or admitted to the Bar of another state and applying for admission to the Illinois Bar.

Vedder Price’s New York office seeks an associate with approximately 2-3 years of both litigation and bankruptcy experience. Candidates should have substantive experience drafting complaints and motions, conducting discovery, taking depositions, appearing in federal, state and bankruptcy courts, negotiating settlements, and corresponding with opposing counsel and clients. Experience in creditors’ rights law preferred, including collateral repossession, the Uniform Commercial Code (Articles 2, 2A and 9 in particular), equipment leasing, and commercial finance law. New York bar admittance is required; New Jersey bar admittance is a plus.
