Mr. Poland concentrates his global practice on asset and structured finance, primarily in the aviation and rail industries. From 2015–2024 he has been ranked “Band 2” tier by Chambers UK: Asset Finance. Since 2022 he has been recognized as a “Leading Individual” by the Legal 500 UK: Transport Finance and Leasing, and he is recognized among the world’s leading aviation attorneys by Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Expert Guides. In 2021, Mr. Poland was recognized in the second annual Airline Economics Mentors group list that includes the aviation industry’s most respected and inspirational leaders. From 2009-2024, he was recognized by Best Lawyers United Kingdom edition in the Asset Finance Law category. In 2015, 2017 and 2018, Vedder Price was named Airline Economics Aviation 100 Law Firm of the Year. He was also recognized as a leading Aviation Industry Mentor for 2024 by Airline Economics. 

His breadth of aviation experience includes acting on behalf of banks, airlines, lessors and export credit agencies on a wide variety of financing structures for airlines across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. His experience also includes restructurings, joint ventures, and finance and operating lease structures, including export credit financings, German leases, JOLCOs and public debt issues. Mr. Poland also has extensive experience in the helicopter and corporate jet market. 

His rail industry experience includes acting on behalf of financial institutions on capital markets financings, as well as bank syndicates on the financing of European locomotives and passenger rolling stock.
