Julie L. Langdon is a Shareholder and member of the firm’s Intellectual Property group.

Ms. Langdon has broad experience in litigation, licensing and counseling involving all aspects of intellectual property in a broad range of industries and sectors. Her primary practice is patent litigation, which has involved patents in various technologies including biotechnology, chemical compositions and processes, software and computer-based systems, consumer products, consumer electronic products, oilfield fluid technologies, wearable technologies and pharmaceuticals, including Hatch-Waxman issues. She also handles litigation involving assertions of copyright, trademark and trade dress infringement, as well as trade secret misappropriation. Ms. Langdon strategically helps her clients by identifying their intellectual property protection needs, obtaining and maintaining patent and trademark protection, and enforcing their rights through non-litigation and litigation strategies. She represents plaintiffs and defendants in all phases of patent litigation, including preliminary injunction proceedings, discovery and appeals.She has served as counsel in litigations in district courts throughout the United States, and in proceedings in front of the International Trade Commission.

Ms. Langdon has extensive experience with patent and trademark portfolio protection and maintenance before the USPTO and international bodies. She is a registered patent attorney and prosecutes patents involving biotechnology, chemical, software, medical devices and mechanical arts. Her experience includes inter partes review, ex parte reexamination, third-party submission, trademark letters of protest, and trademark cancellation and opposition proceedings.

Ms. Langdon received her Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law and her M.S. in Forensic Science with a concentration in biotechnology from Florida International University in Miami. She also obtained an undergraduate degree in cellular biology and biotechnology from the State University of New York at New Paltz.

Ms. Langdon was named one of the Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive & Emerging Leaders in 2013 by Diversity MBA Magazine. She was also selected as an “Illinois Rising Star” by Illinois Super Lawyers from 2012 to 2016 for Intellectual Property Litigation. In addition, she has been selected by her peers as an "Emerging Lawyer," an affiliate of Leading Lawyers.

Ms. Langdon was recognized by Best Lawyers in the Litigation - Patent category for 2023 and 2024.
