Daniel B. Lange is a Shareholder in the Chicago office of Vedder Price and a member of the firm’s Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits practice group.

Mr. Lange represents public and private commercial companies, investment funds, ESOP trustees and employees in structuring and implementing executive compensation packages, as well as broad-based equity and incentive compensation arrangements and identifying related compliance and reporting requirements.

Mr. Lange counsels buyers, sellers, management and lenders on the benefits and tax issues that arise in corporate transactions, such as restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, and transactions involving company stock held by ESOPs. He helps clients understand and comply with the various tax laws affecting executive and equity compensation and is experienced in structuring and implementing welfare benefit programs, including severance, health and disability.

Mr. Lange advises clients on the creation and implementation of retirement plans that comply with qualification guidelines and other administrative requirements and guides plan administration committees on reducing or avoiding personal liability in plan oversight.

Since 2018, the Legal 500 United States guide recommended Mr. Lange in the Labor and Employment—Employee Benefits, Executive Compensation and Retirement Plans: Transactional category. Mr. Lange was also selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the field of Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022.
