Vedder Price Represents SpiderRock Advisors in Minority Investment by BlackRock
Vedder Price is pleased to announce that it represented SpiderRock Advisors (“SpiderRock”), a tech-enabled asset manager based in Chicago, in connection with a minority investment by BlackRock, Inc (“BlackRock”). SpiderRock and BlackRock have also formed an ongoing, strategic joint venture to expand access for wealth firms and financial advisors to professionally managed, options-based separately managed account strategies.
SpiderRock is a market leader in customized options strategies in the United States, and manages approximately $2.5 billion in client assets for firms in the RIA, family office, independent broker/dealer, wirehouse and institutional channels. The joint venture will give SpiderRock access to BlackRock’s network of market leaders and consultants, who will serve as the primary distribution and marketing team in introducing SpiderRock Advisors’ tech-enabled advisory services and strategies to wealth firms and financial advisors nationwide. The arrangement will also allow both firms to expand the breadth of portfolio personalization capabilities that they can offer to wealth managers.
