Ryan McDonald is an Associate in Vedder Price’s Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Real Estate and Finance & Transactions groups.

Mr. McDonald focuses his practice on real estate matters with a particular emphasis on finance and development, providing counsel for the debt financing of the acquisition, refinancing and construction of multifamily housing, health care facilities, and other commercial properties. He represents lenders in connection with debt financing of over $500 million in mortgage and mezzanine loan transactions per year.

Mr. McDonald also has significant experience with FHA-insured financing programs and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. In addition to closing transactions under Sections 223(a)(7), 223(f) and 221(d)(4) of the National Housing Act, he has helped many borrowers and lenders navigate the transfer of physical assets (TPA) process and various other compliance issues in the maintenance of federally insured loans.

Before practicing law, Mr. McDonald earned his J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and his B.A. in political economics from Tulane University, summa cum laude.
