Nitya Bhardwaj is an Associate in the Los Angeles office of Vedder Price and a member of the firm’s Litigation and Government Investigations & White Collar Defense groups.
Ms. Bhardwaj represents corporate entities and executives in litigation in federal court and state court, and in arbitration (FINRA, JAMS, AAA and private arbitration). She has extensive experience successfully helping clients resolve disputes early, when possible, to avoid litigation. When matters are not able to be resolved favorably for the client, she is effective in bringing claims in federal and state court.
Her litigation experience includes matters involving complex business disputes, corporate liability, shareholder disputes, intellectual property infringement, business torts, defense against employment claims and related issues.
She has represented clients in investigations by government agencies, such as the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and the United States Department of Justice. She has handled allegations of insider trading, cybersecurity reporting violations, False Claims Act violations, and other litigative matters including responding to agency subpoenas and demands for information.
Ms. Bhardwaj assists Public Counsel’s Center for Veterans’ Advancement, in a pro bono capacity, helping veterans advocate for upgrade discharge requests.
While in law school, Ms. Bhardwaj was a member of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Team, Research Editor on the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review, President of the South Asian Law Student Association, and Patent Chair of the Intellectual Property and Cybersecurity Law Student Organization. She also served on the Executive Board of Directors for the Southern California chapter of the South Asian Bar Association for two consecutive terms.
