Nicholas A. Portillo

Associate

Nicholas A. Portillo is an Associate in Vedder Price’s Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Investment Services group.

Mr. Portillo focuses his practice on representing U.S.-registered investment companies and funds, their boards of directors and investment advisers in regulatory compliance and governance matters under U.S. securities laws. Prior to working at Vedder Price, he served as a 1940 Act consultant for a large mutual fund service provider in Chicago.

Mr. Portillo earned his law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and his undergraduate degree in organizational psychology and history from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. 

While in law school, Mr. Portillo served as an associate editor for the Loyola University Chicago International Law Review and represented Loyola University Chicago School of Law at the Clara Barton International Humanitarian Law Competition in Washington D.C. and at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Hong Kong.
