Jonathan Maude, a Partner in Vedder Price’s London office and Chair of the UK/EU Law Committee, was recently quoted in a an HR Magazine article on whether or not financial institutions will relocate staff after the UK leaves the EU and what the HR challenges will be if this occurs.

Mr. Maude and other professionals discussed the possibility of other companies following suit after Theresa May announced that the UK would be leaving the single market, causing worry and uncertainty for the financial services sector. However, persuading employees to move is no easy task, especially when they are high level. Mr. Maude noted that “The reality is that senior management are unlikely to want to leave London because the other options, generally speaking, aren’t as attractive. Senior people have spent their whole lives getting to a certain point lifestyle-wise.”
