Jeanah Park Named to Asian American Bar Association Board
The law firm of Vedder Price is pleased to announce that Senior Litigation Associate, Jeanah Park, was recently inducted as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago Area for the 2010-2011 term.
The Asian American Bar Association (AABA) was founded in 1987 with the mission of serving not only the interests of its members, but also the community from which its members came. Jeanah Park counsels and represents clients in a wide variety of business disputes, including commercial contract, employment, securities, intellectual property and business tort disputes.
Ms. Park has extensive experience in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including counseling clients and litigating issues pertaining to franchise and dealer termination, allegations of securities fraud, the protection of trade secrets, enforcement of restrictive covenants, and other business tort matters in both state and federal courts. She has appeared and successfully argued several motions and appeals at all levels, including the Illinois Appellate Court and the federal district courts in the Northern District of Illinois, the Eastern District of Texas (Marshall and Texarkana divisions), the Districts of Delaware and Minnesota, and the Northern District of Indiana.
Ms. Park has successfully obtained injunctive relief and summary judgment on behalf of clients seeking to protect their trade secrets and enforce employee restrictive covenants. She has extensive experience in state and federal motion and discovery practice and has obtained sanctions on behalf of clients based on discovery violations, including spoliation of evidence. Ms. Park is co-author of a chapter in the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s Business and Commercial Litigation practice handbook, published in 2007 and 2009.
Ms. Park is a member of the Chicago chapter of the Federal Bar Association, the Forum on Franchising of the American Bar Association and is an active member of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago area (AABA), where she serves as a member of AABA’s Board of Directors.
