Dylan Potter is a Partner at Vedder Price and a member of the Global Transportation Finance team in the firm’s London office.

Mr. Potter advises on a broad range of financing, leasing, capital markets and fund products involving commercial and corporate aviation, shipping, rail, satellites, utilities and industrial equipment, with clients including lenders, export credit agencies, operating lessors, operators and equity investors in these sectors.

Mr. Potter has been involved in many innovative and award winning transactions, including the first export credit supported Sukuk (Islamic bond) which remains the largest ECA supported capital markets offering in the aviation sector; large scale satellite financings; portfolio and company acquisitions and divestments involving multiple aircraft and vessels; distressed debt transactions and restructurings; and structured, tax-based and cross-border leasing transactions.

From 2018 to 2024, Mr. Potter has been ranked by Chambers UK as one of the country's leading attorneys in the Asset Finance - Aviation Finance category. Additionally, he has been recognized among the world’s leading aviation attorneys by Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Expert Guides since 2019, and named a “Next Generation Lawyer” each year since 2018 by The Legal 500 UK for Asset Finance and Leasing.   • Aircraft and helicopter sales and purchases, financing and leasing transactions.
  • Vessel sales and purchases, financing and chartering transactions.
  • Market leading green leases to support environmentally focused projects in accordance with the Green Loan Principles and Green Bond Principles.  This included the first ever such lease - a £30m plant and machinery lease between South West Water, a UK water and waste water utility and HSBC.
  • Satellite and Satellite Constellation Financings including the ECA supported financing of O3b’s first 15 MEO satellites.
     
  • Financing and leasing transactions and procurements within regulated sectors such as the water, energy and rail sectors.
