London Employment Associate Daniel Stander recently authored an article on the hospitality industry and its uphill battle during the pandemic for The Caterer. In the article, Mr. Stander, a certified mental health first aider, explains how hospitality businesses are suffering due to chronic staff shortages and staff being subjected to rising cases of abuse from customers.

“Encourage staff to report harassment by customers, support those who report harassment and take appropriate action,” Mr. Stander explains. The well-being of employees should be a priority, though the legal framework around customer harassment is not as clear as hospitality employers would like it to be.
