Blaine C. Kimrey, a Shareholder in the Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Litigation practice area, will speak at the International Association of Privacy Professionals’ (IAPP) Global Privacy Summit 2016, taking place April 3–6 in Washington, DC. The IAPP is one of the largest not-for-profit organizations helping to define, support and improve the privacy profession globally, serving as an educational community and resource. The conference will provide attendees with data privacy education and resources and will feature speakers who work in the privacy and data protection industries.

Mr. Kimrey’s session, “Troubled Waters with Texts and Robocalls: TCPA/TSR Compliance/Enforcement Issues,” at 2 p.m. Eastern Time on April 4, will review the FCC’s July 10, 2015 TCPA Omnibus Declaratory Ruling and Order, discuss potential conflicts between the TCPA and TSR, and provide an overview of lessons learned from class action litigation and defense strategies. Additionally, the session will touch upon compliance requirements and best practices regarding the implementation of autodialed or prerecorded telemarketing and non-telemarketing calls to both residential and wireless devices.
