October 18-19, 2017

Amy L. Bess and Joseph K. Mulherin, Vedder Price Shareholders and members of the firm’s Labor and Employment practice group, will present at PLI’s annual Employment Law Institute at the PLI New York Center on October 18-19, 2017. This year’s program will focus on new developments in employment law in light of a new U.S. presidential administration.

In addition to co-chairing the 2017 Institute, Ms. Bess will present “Thorny Workplace Accommodation Issues.” She and her co-presenters will discuss leaves of absence, the medical information employers can obtain under the ADA, return to work challenges, types of reasonable accommodations such as light duty, reassignment and telecommuting and much more.

Mr. Mulherin will speak on the topic of employee classification, outlining the differences between independent contractors and employees, growing “gig economy” issues, joint employer relationships, and independent contracts and service agreements among other topics.

The two day program is designed for private practitioners, in-house counsel, and human resources and other business professionals who seek an in-depth analysis and discussion of often subtle and rapidly evolving issues arising in employment law. Click here for more information.
