Alexander “Alexei” Leonard is a Shareholder in Vedder Price’s New York office and member of the firm’s Labor & Employment group.
Mr. Leonard focuses his practice on employment litigation and workplace counseling matters for large and small companies, and has particular experience working with hospitality and startup companies. He also serves clients in the financial services, technology, entertainment and media, retail and professional services industries.
Mr. Leonard has extensive experience defending a myriad of employment discrimination, Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), public accommodation, restrictive covenant and individual, collective and class action wage and hour matters in federal and state courts. Additionally, he has represented clients before administrative agencies including the EEOC, OSHA, U.S. Department of Labor, New York Department of Labor, New York State Division of Human Rights and the New York City Commission On Human Rights.
Mr. Leonard’s practice extends to training on discrimination and harassment avoidance, progressive discipline and investigation techniques. He frequently advises companies on a wide range of employment laws such as the FMLA, ADA, ADEA, WARN, FLSA, NLRA and Title VII, as well as local and state laws.
