When

October 30, 2019

You are invited to join us for a complimentary one-hour webinar program designed for in-house counsel and human resources professionals, led by employment attorneys at Vedder Price, to discuss new California employment laws and recent case law developments.

Governor Newsom just announced many changes taking effect on January 1, 2020. These new employment laws, together with recent court decisions, impose new compliance challenges on employers in California. Employers are encouraged to attend to learn about what is new in time to review their policies and practices prior to the start of the new year.

What is changing in 2020?

This webinar will provide an overview of the most notable changes coming on January 1.

Some of the significant new laws we plan to cover include AB 5 codifying the Dynamex ABC Test, AB 9 extending FEHA administrative exhaustion deadlines, AB 51 banning employment arbitration agreements entered after January 1, 2020, and other new laws regarding additional penalties for the late payment of wages, a prohibition on “no-rehire” provisions in settlement agreements, the extension of Paid Family Leave to 8 weeks, additional requirements for lactation accommodation, and the addition of hair and hairstyles to the definition of race for employment discrimination.
