Mr. Geager focuses his practice on maritime and international finance, secured lending and corporate matters, assisting clients in the shipping and maritime industry with complex domestic and cross-border financings and corporate governance and formation matters. His clients include financial institutions, funds, joint ventures, shipping companies and energy companies.

Mr. Geager has extensive experience in all aspects of large scale vessel financings and refinancings, representing both lenders and borrowers. He has acted as lead New York counsel and as local counsel for numerous offshore financings, advising on aspects of U.S., Marshall Islands, Liberian and Vanuatu law.

In 2022 and 2023, Mr. Geager was recognized by The Legal 500 USA as a Rising Star in the Transport: Shipping Finance category. He was also recognized by Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch in 2024 for the Transportation Law category.

Mr. Geager earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law. While in law school he served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Joanna Seybert in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and was vice president of the Intellectual Property Law Society. He also studied at the University of Glasgow School of Law as part of a foreign legal exchange program. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Georgetown University.
