William J. Bettman, a Vedder Price Shareholder and member of the firm’s Finance and Transactions and Executive Compensation groups, will speak during PLI’s "Drafting and Negotiating Corporate Agreements 2013" at the University of Chicago Gleacher Center in downtown Chicago. This comprehensive workshop will cover the basics of drafting and negotiating corporate agreement—from how the provisions of an agreement fit together, to the fundamental drafting and negotiating principles that are common to all corporate agreements. Select topics to be covered include an overview of key terms of standard transactional agreements, a discussion of the wide range of M&A agreements and common ethical errors in contracts.

Mr. Bettman's session, titled "Employment Agreements," will address the importance of jurisdiction in relation specific provisions, international employment agreements and complying with new federal rules and legislation concerning executive compensation, among other topics.
