Vedder Price is pleased to announce that Lawrence P. Casson, Ph.D. has joined the firm's New York office as Counsel in the Intellectual Property group.
Mr. Casson has experience in a broad range of intellectual property areas, including patent portfolio analysis, patent validity and infringement opinions, and patent drafting and prosecution, with particular emphasis on biotechnology. His work has involved immunology, gene and protein expression, stem cells, cell-based screens for modulators of biologically active proteins, therapeutics for cancer, infectious diseases, metabolic disorders, plant molecular biology, and analysis and standardization of dietary supplements.

"His impressive background in biotechnology and years of experience in interference practice and pharmaceutical litigation compliment and strengthen our existing capabilities."

Prior to joining Vedder Price, Mr. Casson served as Counsel at Kenyon & Kenyon. He earned his J.D. from St. John’s University, his Ph.D. from Princeton University and his undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
