We are pleased to announce that Vedder Price has expanded its Investment Services group with the addition of Sam Tyfield and Richard L. Thomas as Partners in the firm’s London office.
Vedder Price’s Investment Services group, one of the largest practice groups of its kind in the United States, has deep experience in all matters related to design, organization, management and distribution of investment products. With the addition of our London Partners, we can now offer our clients more comprehensive coverage in the international market, including the following:
Comprehensive advice on both (a) the formation and ongoing management of foreign domiciled funds across all investor types, asset classes, product types (including on-exchange and OTC products) and jurisdictions and (b) the formation and retention/engagement of investment managers and advisers, administrators, custodians and other service providers to those funds.
Extensive experience advising funds, investment managers and advisers on complex and hybrid structures, including cross-border structuring, employee/PM remuneration and interest entitlements, side pockets, gates, illiquid and long-term assets, side letters and parallel investment structures.
Forefront experience in regulatory and compliance matters affecting asset managers and investment products. Our members are involved in UK and other overseas industry and regulatory bodies, creating best practice guidance and working with exchanges, platforms, the buy side and the sell side to ensure that our clients are both compliant with and ahead of current and future rules and regulations.
All aspects of exchange trading agreements and OTC trading documentation, including ISDAs for U.S.-based clients with international and local counterparties (and vice versa).
Extensive experience in advising proprietary trading firms on all aspects of their business. Sam Tyfield is a member of the Futures and Options Association’s eTrading/Risk Working Group (the only lawyer to have been a member) and has extensive and detailed knowledge in this space. He works closely with other members of the firm’s Investment Services group on these issues.
Experience in high-value and high-profile cross-border mergers and acquisitions in the investment management and financial sectors.
