Vedder Price Hosts Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law New York Chapter Launch Event
Vedder Price was honored to host the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law official launch event for their New York chapter on January 28, 2016. New York is the Coalition’s first expansion chapter since launching in Chicago in 2008. Over 80 women from 50 different legal employers assisted the work of the Coalition’s Expansion Committee to launch the new chapter. The event, which was held at the Vedder Price New York office, was a great success with tremendous support from many of Vedder’s female employees. All of the Coalition’s past presidents attended the event, including Chicago Shareholder Margo Wolf O’Donnell, who also co-chairs the Expansion Committee.
The Coalition supports women lawyers’ advancement into leadership roles and retention at all levels of the profession through programming, networking and idea-sharing. The membership currently includes more than 70 member law firms and attorneys in-house at more than 40 companies in the Chicagoland area. The inaugural expansion event provided a venue for women attorneys in New York to build relationships with their peers at other firms and companies.
This event served not only to connect women in the Coalition but also to elect new leadership in New York. Shareholder Mehtap Cevher Conti was chosen to serve on the Executive Committee and Board of the New York chapter. Click here to view photos from the event.
