Attorneys in the Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights, Global Transportation Finance and Finance & Transactions groups at Vedder Price were honored with the Sector Deal of the Year award during the 7th Annual M&A Advisor “Turnaround Awards” for their work in the following categories:

• Consumer Service for the firm’s role in the restructuring of Silver Airways (f/k/a Gulfstream International Airlines) by Victory Park Capital. The Vedder Price team, led by Shareholders Michael M. Eidelman and Geoffrey R. Kass, counseled Silver Airways and Victory Park Capital in the acquisition of several key assets, including 21 Beechcraft 1900D aircraft, from the former Gulfstream International Group, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2010.
• Consumer and Retail Products (Between $10mm and $250mm) for the firm’s work on the reorganization of Giordano’s Enterprises, Inc. by Victory Park Capital. The firm, led by Shareholders Michael M. Eidelman, Joseph H. Kye and Matthew T. O’Connor, advised Victory Park Capital affiliate VPC Pizza Holdings, LLC, in its successful $52 million bid to purchase the operating assets of Chicago-based Giordano’s from the Chapter 11 bankruptcy trustee appointed in the related case.

Winners of the M&A Advisor “Turnaround Awards” were announced on March 6, 2013 at the 7th Annual Awards Gala at the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida. The awards are the pinnacle of the annual M&A Distressed Investing Symposium and recognize the leading turnaround transactions, companies and dealmakers across several industries from over 300 participating companies and 120 nominations.
