Vedder Price Attorneys Appointed as Receivers by Federal Judge in Texas
Vedder Price has been appointed to serve as receivers in a post-judgment federal civil RICO and defamation case in the Northern District of Texas. The case between Hal Lambert and his firm, Point Bridge Capital, and Charles Johnson resulted in a judgment against Johnson in excess of $70 million.
Based on the November 21, 2025 order issued by United States District Judge Mark T. Pittman, Vedder Price Shareholder Jeffrey Ansley and Associate Adam Farrell have been appointed to serve without bond as receivers in this matter. The Court has directed Ansley and Farrell, in their capacities as Court appointed receivers to, among other actions, “take possession and control of all Receivership Estate property and take reasonable actions to secure, safeguard, insure, and maintain that property.”
The case is Point Bridge Capital, LLC, et al. v. Charles Johnson, Case No. 4:24-cv-00988-P, before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division.
