Usha Avasarala is an Associate in Vedder Price’s Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Finance & Transactions group.
Ms. Avasarala advises private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, direct lenders, and corporate borrowers on complex debt financing transactions across various industry sectors including industrial, healthcare and oil & gas. She structures and negotiates acquisition financings, leveraged buyouts, asset-based and cash flow loans, working capital facilities and unsecured financings in the middle market. Usha regularly represents both borrowers and lenders in senior secured, first- and second-lien and unitranche facilities, guiding clients through the full deal cycle from term sheet to closing and post-closing compliance.
Ms. Avasarala brings a commercial perspective to each transaction, aligning legal strategy with business priorities to drive efficient, timely closings. Before joining the firm, Ms. Avasarala practiced law in India, where she advised clients in the financial and aviation sectors and served as in-house counsel for an international airport. She also worked in debt finance and private credit practice areas at large law firms in Chicago.
