Vedder Thinking | Events Tom Kowalski and Deborah Lu to Participate in PLI’s NYC Patent Prosecution Boot Camp

Vedder Price Shareholders Thomas J. Kowalski and Deborah L. Lu, both members of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group, will participate in Practising Law Institute’s (PLI) “Fundamentals of Patent Prosecution 2014: A Boot Camp for Claim Drafting & Amendment Writing,” taking place at PLI’s New York Center from June 11–13, 2014.
Mr. Kowalski will present an overview of patent prosecution including changes made by the America Invents Act, common mistakes made in responding to Office actions, and ethical issues, while Dr. Lu will serve as a clinic tutor.PLI’s Patent Prosecution Boot Camp is geared toward patent prosecuting and litigating attorneys and patent agents with or without a Patent Office registration number or little patent experience and will focus on teaching the basics of claim drafting, patent application preparation and patent prosecution as well as a review of recent developments in the law.
