Samuel M. Deau is an Associate in Vedder Price’s Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Government Investigations & White Collar Defense group.

Mr. Deau focuses his practice on white collar criminal defense, internal investigations, and securities litigation. His experience includes representing individuals and corporations across different industries in complex matters involving the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and other government agencies. Mr. Deau also has experience assisting with large-scale investigations, such as responding to subpoenas and civil investigative demands, managing document collection and review, and presenting to governmental agencies. He is experienced in all stages of litigation, from discovery through deposition, motion practice, and trial.

Mr. Deau received his law degree from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and his undergraduate degree from The University of Tampa. While in law school, he served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Charles P. Kocoras of the Northern District of Illinois and was Notes Editor for the Journal of Technology & Intellectual Property.
