Vedder Thinking | News Sam Tyfield Profiled in the Trading Technologist
Sam Tyfield, a Partner in Vedder Price's London office and a member of the firm's Investment Services and Finance & Transactions groups, was profiled in the April issue of the Trading Technologist, a Harrington Starr publication. Every month, the Trading Technologist publishes its "FinTech Focus" section, which profiles global leaders in the financial services and commodities technology industries.
The piece highlights Mr. Tyfield's niche practice of advising clients in the technology-related end of financial services, such as trading firms and brokers, on all aspects of their business. The author asks Mr. Tyfield for his opinion on industry-related topics, such as how technology affects the financial services sector, difficulties that high frequency and proprietary trading firms face in today’s marketplace and, given the current technology climate, where the financial services industry will be in five years. When asked what drew Mr. Tyfield to the alternative investment industry and what he enjoys most about working in technology-based financial services, he stated, "It is an exciting area of practice and it presents opportunities to work with intelligent, informed, dynamic people who need to run international, technology-focused businesses which have financial services regulatory wrapper to everything they do."
"Nothing is ever cookie-cutter and the laws and regulations governing the alternative investment space are changing and will continue to change dramatically over the course of the next few years," Mr. Tyfield added.
