Vedder Thinking | Events Sam Tyfield Participates in High Frequency Trading Conference
October 28, 2014
Sam Tyfield, a Partner in Vedder Price's London office and a member of the Finance & Transactions and Investment Services groups, participated in City & Financial Global's conference, High Frequency Trading: Challenge and Controversy, on Tuesday, October 28 in London.
Over the past year, the use of high frequency trading (HFT) to transact large volumes of orders in mere milliseconds (or even microseconds) has generated a great deal of controversy. This conference was designed to inform leading investors, national regulators, brokers and exchanges, individuals from financial institutions, and professional advisers on how to handle HFT activity and what the industry can expect in the future. Mr. Tyfield, along with two other industry professionals, led a discussion on U.S. attitudes towards HFT.
