Vedder Thinking | News Sam Tyfield Discusses Possible IPO for HFT Firm Flow Traders
Sam Tyfield, a Partner in Vedder Price's London office and member of the firm's Investment Services and Finance & Transactions practice groups, was recently quoted by De Financiële Telegraaf, an Amsterdam-based daily financial newspaper. The article discusses the reasons why Flow Traders, an international high frequency trading firm (HFT) headquartered in Amsterdam and one of the world’s largest liquidity providers in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), is currently seeking a public listing for its shares and a capital raising initiative.
Mr. Tyfield commented on some potential reasons for an IPO stating, "The number of likely trade buyers for businesses has diminished, especially as banks have had to divest themselves of a lot of their proprietary trading desks, so an IPO is becoming a more important and feasible (for some) option."
