Vedder Thinking | News Sam Tyfield Comments on Trade Reporting in FIA Europe's Special Report
Sam Tyfield, a Partner in Vedder Price's London office and member of the firm's Investment Services and Finance & Transactions groups, was recently quoted in FIA Europe's Derivatives Clearing 2015 special report article titled "Ramping Up TR Data." The article discusses the challenges firms will face regarding trade reporting once the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) II’s regulatory technical standards (RTS) go live January 1, 2017.
In order to comply with the new regulations and standards set forth in MiFID II, firms are having to either adapt their existing tools to accommodate the new rules, or create entirely new systems altogether. Mr. Tyfield highlights this burden, stating, "MiFID II requires a lot of information at a level of granularity that has never been required before."
