Shareholder Patrick Spangler will present at the ERISA Litigation National Institute program on May 18 in Chicago. The program, hosted at the American Bar Association offices, will feature successful, experienced plaintiff and defense ERISA litigators who will provide tips and techniques for minimizing litigation risk.

Mr. Spangler’s session, “Developments in Litigation Involving Multiemployer Plans,” will examine substantive and procedural developments in litigation involving multiemployer plans. Mr. Spangler will serve on a panel with union side fund counsel and representatives from the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. The panel will discuss recent multiemployer fund litigation trends including the Sun Capital remand decision, recent cases extending the successor liability theory of liability, and multiemployer fund issues in bankruptcy.
