Nusra Ismail

Associate

Nusra Ismail is an Associate in Vedder Price’s Litigation practice area and a member of the firm’s Government Investigations and White Collar defense team.

Ms. Ismail has extensive experience representing clients across a wide variety of industries. Her practice includes representing clients in investigations and proceedings brought by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ). She has defended clients on matters involving allegations of securities fraud, insider trading, and export violations, among others.

Ms. Ismail also has experience defending and counseling clients through data privacy and cybersecurity incidents, including system-wide breaches, cyber extortions involving ransomware attacks, breaches concerning HIPAA-protected data and incidents involving wrongful employee conduct.

Ms. Ismail’s other representative work includes litigating cases involving class action securities claims, breach of fiduciary duties claims, and misappropriation of trade secret claims.

In addition, Ms. Ismail is committed to pro bono service as a member of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee.  Ms. Ismail regularly serves as a guardian ad litem on behalf of minors in partnership with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services.

Prior to working at Vedder Price, Ms. Ismail served as a Law Clerk at the Federal Trade Commission, Bureau of Consumer Protection. While in law school, Ms. Ismail was a four-time CALI Award Winner and served as the Chief Executive Editor of the Washington University Law Review.

In 2023 and 2024, Ms. Ismail was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers.
