Nicole E. Burleson is an Associate in Vedder Price’s Dallas office and a member of the firm’s Litigation group.

Ms. Burleson’s practice focuses on representing and advising clients on complex commercial litigation and energy regulatory matters. Her litigation experience includes regularly representing clients from various industries in the areas of defamation and media defense, restrictive covenants and trade secrets, intellectual property, and commercial contracts. She has litigated complex commercial matters in state and federal courts across the country including Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Washington D.C. On behalf of her clients, Ms. Burleson has obtained favorable verdicts and injunctive relief from judges and arbitrators for both plaintiffs and defendants.

With respect to her energy practice, Ms. Burleson has significant experience in both energy litigation and regulatory matters representing all types of market participants in the ERCOT region including transmission and distribution utilities, investors, regional transmission organizations, developers, power generation companies, retail electric providers, and banking and financial clients. Through her regulatory practice, Ms. Burleson has represented clients in Public Utility Commission of Texas rulemakings, enforcement matters, energy efficiency and distribution cost recovery cases, advanced metering matters, applications for certificates of convenience and necessity, and more. Ms. Burleson has also assisted with several appeals before the Texas Supreme Court involving challenges to electric utility regulations.

Ms. Burleson received her law degree from the University of North Carolina and her undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University. She is a member of the Dallas Junior League and volunteers with the Dallas chapter of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).
