Mr. Schein’s assignments on the Edison Mission Energy, Patriot Coal Corp. and Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. bankruptcy cases helped elevate him to the top spot. Douglas J. Lipke, Shareholder and Co-Chair of the Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights group, was ranked seventh. Additionally, Vedder Price was ranked number seven among U.S. law firms in terms volume as of March 31, 2013. The firm and both attorneys earned similar rankings for the fourth quarter of 2012.
