Matthew L. Goldberg is an Associate at Vedder Price and a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment group in the San Francisco office.

Mr. Goldberg has significant experience defending complex wage-and-hour and class action cases in all stages of litigation. He successfully defends clients in a variety of cases including contract, business, real estate, construction and employment disputes. He has served as second-chair in a four-week jury trial in federal court and has particular experience in the management of large-scale, electronic discovery projects to isolate responsive documents.

Mr. Goldberg regularly advises clients on employment law and related matters including wage-and-hour best practices, audits, settlement agreements, compensation plans, termination and equal employment laws specific to California and federal law. His proactive approach successfully identifies and eliminates many potential workplace compliance issues, and he routinely conducts investigations on employee conduct and sexual harassment. Mr. Goldberg also has extensive experience drafting handbooks, pay plans, offer letters, confidentiality agreements and arbitration clauses, and provides counsel to employers in industries including hospitality, automotive and technology.

While in law school, Mr. Goldberg served as judicial extern for the Honorable Patricia Y. Cowett of the Superior Court of San Diego County and as an extern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California.
