Junaid Zubairi Continues Vedder Price's Legacy as Planning Co-Chair of the Accountant's Liability 2019 Program
Vedder Price is proud to be a planning co-chair for the 2019 Accountants’ Liability Program taking place in Washington, DC on October 17 and 18. Junaid Zubairi, a Shareholder and Chair of the Government Enforcement and Special Investigations group, is proud to continue the Vedder tradition of being a planning co-chair for this event. He is taking over from Shareholder John Eickemeyer, who was the founder and co-chair of the program for more than thirty years.
This year’s program theme is Strategies for the Profession in an Era of Heightened Enforcement, and attendees will learn about changing laws, principles and liabilities shaping the field, along with best practices, to help protect their firms and clients.
The conference, which is a mainstay in the accountant liability arena, will feature keynote speakers Stephanie Avakian and Steven Peikin, Co-Directors of the SEC's Division of Enforcement, as well as additional speakers from the SEC and PCAOB exam and enforcement personnel.
Vedder Price will have a strong presence at the event. In addition to Mr. Zubairi, Shareholders Mike Quinn and Steven Berger will present at the highly-regarded conference. Mr. Quinn will present on a panel discussing emerging areas and their associated challenges, such as cryptocurrency and cannabis. Mr. Berger will discuss emerging ethical issues facing the profession.
