Previously, he was Associate General Counsel at Aurora Investment Management, L.L.C., which is among the largest hedge fund-of-fund managers in the world.

“Joe is highly regarded in the Chicago hedge fund community, and his diverse investment services and compliance-related experience will broaden the range of services we can offer our clients,” said David Sturms, Chair of the Investment Services group. “His experience with domestic and international hedge fund structures, derivatives transactions, and commodities and futures matters is a tremendous asset to the group.”

Prior to joining Aurora, Mr. Mannon was an Associate in Vedder Price’s Investment Services group, focusing on investment adviser regulatory and formation matters, disclosure, governance and transaction work with respect to registered open and closed-end funds and private funds, and SEC examination and enforcement matters. He was also an enforcement attorney with the SEC in Chicago.

Mr. Mannon is a frequent speaker and author on compliance matters affecting advisers and private funds and he serves as the Chair of the Midwest Chief Compliance Roundtable, a position he has held since 2008.

Mr. Mannon received a Bachelor of Arts in political economics from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
