Joseph M. Mannon Rejoins the Firm
Vedder Price is pleased to announce that Joseph M. Mannon has rejoined the firm’s Investment Services group as Of Counsel in the Chicago office. Previously, he was Associate General Counsel at Aurora Investment Management, L.L.C., which is among the largest hedge fund-of-fund managers in the world.
“Joe is highly regarded in the Chicago hedge fund community, and his diverse investment services and compliance-related experience will broaden the range of services we can offer our clients,” said David Sturms, Chair of the Investment Services group. “His experience with domestic and international hedge fund structures, derivatives transactions, and commodities and futures matters is a tremendous asset to the group.”
Mr. Mannon has significant experience forming and structuring domestic and international private and public funds, conducting hedge fund due diligence, negotiating derivatives and credit documentation, handling all aspects of registration and regulatory filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and National Futures Association (NFA) for public funds, private funds and advisers, and developing, reviewing and updating compliance policies and procedures.
Prior to joining Aurora, Mr. Mannon was an Associate in Vedder Price’s Investment Services group, focusing on investment adviser regulatory and formation matters, disclosure, governance and transaction work with respect to registered open and closed-end funds and private funds, and SEC examination and enforcement matters. He was also an enforcement attorney with the SEC in Chicago.
Mr. Mannon is a frequent speaker and author on compliance matters affecting advisers and private funds and he serves as the Chair of the Midwest Chief Compliance Roundtable, a position he has held since 2008.
Mr. Mannon received a Bachelor of Arts in political economics from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
