Vedder Thinking | News Joel S. Forman Joins NY Office
The law firm of Vedder Price is pleased to announce that Joel S. Forman has joined the firm as a Shareholder in its Litigation group. Prior to joining Vedder Price, Mr. Forman was a partner at Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP, where he concentrated in representing banks and securities firms before trial and appellate courts, in arbitration proceedings and in a wide range of securities regulatory matters.

Mr. Forman represents clients in the broker-dealer, mutual fund, and investment adviser businesses. His trial and administrative law experience includes matters relating to sales practices, managed asset products, stock lending, clearing, prime brokerage, annuities, and insurance coverage. His practice also includes matters related to investment banker and retail producer compensation, employment and severance agreements, and regulatory reporting issues.
A graduate of the City University of New York, Queens College, and St. John’s University School of Law, Mr. Forman served as a Staff Attorney for the SEC’s New York Regional Office, Division of Enforcement immediately upon obtaining his law degree. He was later appointed Assistant General Counsel for United Merchants and Manufacturers, Inc., a publicly traded company. Mr. Forman is a member of the New York City Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He served on the Securities Regulation Committee of the New York City Bar Association.
