James S. Montana, Jr. Appointed to Judicial Review Commission by Senator Mark Kirk
Vedder Price attorney James S. Montana, Jr., was appointed today to a 14-member Judicial Review Commission formed by Senator Mark Kirk. The bipartisan, statewide Commission will recommend federal judicial candidates to Senator Kirk.
Currently, there are three judicial vacancies on the district court for the northern district of Illinois. The Judicial Review Commission is slated to work with a similar commission formed by Senator Dick Durbin to make federal judicial candidate recommendations to the president and the senate.
Montana joined Vedder Price in 2002. He is former Chief Legal Counsel to Illinois Governor James Edgar as well as a former Assistant U.S. Attorney. His practice concentrates on complex commercial litigation, white collar criminal defense, parallel proceedings, internal investigations, gaming and governmental relations.
