Heather M. Sager, Administrative Shareholder in Vedder Price's San Francisco office and member of the firm's Labor and Employment group, was quoted in the April 22 Compliance Week article titled, "Beware of Bizarre and Far-Fetched Whistleblower Claims." The article discusses the need for companies to investigate all whistleblower claims, even those that appear to be without merit at first glance. In the article, Ms. Sager states that reaching conclusions before investigating increases the risk of companies running into legal trouble. Furthermore, she discusses the need for employers to have firm policies and procedures in place for investigating whistleblower reports or risk having to play "catch-up" to properly defend themselves later.
