Medicare/Medicaid program reimbursement. We provide counsel on the legal aspects of reimbursement under the U.S. Medicare and Medicaid programs. Our attorneys have substantial experience in the areas of fraud and abuse, and we can help structure business arrangements in a manner consistent with prohibitions on kickbacks and other fraud. We also counsel many types of health care organizations on conditions of participation and reimbursement under these programs, as well as on development and implementation of Medicare/Medicaid managed-care programs.

Tax exemption issues. Our attorneys have extensive experience addressing tax exemption issues for a wide range of health care entities. We provide support for matters ranging from preparation of applications for tax-exempt status to resolution of private inurement and Unrelated Business Income Tax (UBIT) concerns emanating from joint venture activities with nonexempt parties. We can also help address regional sales, use and property tax exemption issues and make sure these exemptions are retained to the fullest allowable degree during sales, leases and restructurings.
