Vedder Thinking | News Frank Nolan Named Titulary Member of Comité Maritime International
Frank Nolan, Vedder Price Shareholder and member of the Global Transportation Finance team in the firm's New York office, was recently named a Titulary Member of the Comité Maritime International (CMI). Mr. Nolan has served in numerous roles with the CMI, most recently as a member of the organization's International Working Group on the Draft Convention on Judicial Sales of Vessels that would facilitate international recognition of judicial vessel foreclosure sales. The CMI's General Assembly passed a motion in June 2014 to forward this Draft for consideration by appropriate international bodies.
CMI's titulary membership is bestowed upon members who make significant contributions to the work of the organization and/or for the individual’s services rendered in legal or maritime affairs in furtherance of international uniformity of maritime law or related commercial practice.
With more than 40 years' experience in marine finance and maritime law, Mr. Nolan has an extraordinary depth of industry knowledge. He has been named one of the top maritime finance lawyers in the United States by the Guide to the World's Leading Shipping & Maritime Lawyers (Euromoney Legal Media Group) and is regularly recognized in publications such as New York Super Lawyers, The Best of the Best USA, Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America. Mr. Nolan also serves as Second Vice President of The Maritime Law Association of the United States.
