Francis X. Nolan, III to present at CMI 2016 New York
Shareholder Francis X. Nolan, III will lead a roundtable discussion on growing conflicts in the meaning of the terms “ship” and “vessel” in national and international law in New York at the 42nd International Conference of the Comité Maritime International (CMI).
This will be the first international conference that the CMI has held on United States soil since 1965 and will be hosted by the Maritime Law Association of the United States. The 2016 agenda will cover a wide variety of issues affecting maritime commerce.
Mr. Nolan chairs the CMI’s International Working Group on Vessel Nomenclature, surveying and analyzing the importance of conflicting definitions of “ship” and “vessel” in international conventions and national laws.
Mr. Nolan is a Vice-President and Director of the Maritime Law Association of the United States and a Titulary Member of the CMI. He is also a member of the conference planning committee for the CMI 2016 program.
