Francis X. Nolan III Elected to Blue Riband Council
Francis X. Nolan III, Shareholder and a member of Vedder Price’s Global Transportation Finance team, has been elected to the Blue Riband Council, which was developed to recognize those who have made significant contributions to the SS United States Conservancy.
The SS United States Conservancy was established to redevelop and maintain the SS United States, widely considered one of the greatest ocean liners ever built. Mr. Nolan led the firm’s Global Transportation Finance team members who contributed a substantial amount of pro bono legal work for the SS United States Conservancy. In particular, Vedder Price helped negotiate the complicated contracts that were instrumental in the successful sale of the liner to the Conservancy.
The not-for-profit SS United States Conservancy is dedicated to protecting, revitalizing and promoting the SS United States. Plans for the ship’s redevelopment include the development of an onboard museum and educational program. The Conservancy also has plans to restore many of the vessel’s interior spaces.
