Esther Langdon is an Associate in the Labor and Employment group in the firm's London office.
First ranked in 2014, Ms. Langdon was selected again by Chambers UK from 2016 through 2020 as an Associate to Watch. Chambers and Partners wrote that Ms. Langdon “has a real skill for ‘working out what people want, and how to get it.’” Additionally, they praised her for knowledge of employment law and management of discrimination suits. In its latest issue, the Legal 500 UK guide recommends Ms. Langdon in the Human Resources - Employment - Employers category.
Ms. Langdon advises clients on all aspects of employment law, with a particular emphasis on contentious matters before the Employment Tribunal and the High Court. She also advises on the full range of personnel matters, including day-to-day human resources support, disciplinary and grievance issues, reorganizations, restructurings and redundancies.
Ms. Langdon carries out comprehensive reviews of employment documentation and advises on the drafting of application forms, letters of appointment, contracts of employment, directors’ service agreements, employee handbooks and policies. She is also experienced in advising on employment issues arising from corporate transactions, including TUPE situations. Ms. Langdon also advises and provides training for clients and their employees on equal opportunities and diversity in the workplace.
Ms. Langdon is an active member of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA) and has been involved in various ELA working parties. She has recently been appointed to its new Arbitration and ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) Group.
In addition, Ms. Langdon has written and spoken extensively on a variety of topics relating to employment law, and her articles and comments have been featured in reputable industry publications, including Employment Solicitor.
