Erica Yang is an Associate in Vedder Price’s Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Finance & Transactions group.
Ms. Yang represents lenders, agent banks, private equity sponsors and borrowers in a variety of commercial finance matters. She has helped clients successfully conclude numerous commercial lending and financing transactions. She has experience throughout the transaction process, including drafting, negotiating and reviewing documentation, such as intercreditor agreements, loan agreements, security agreements, collateral assignments, payoff documents and various corporate documents. Ms. Yang focuses on understanding her clients’ priorities to ensure deals are negotiated in an efficient and effective manner, and she always keeps a business-focused perspective while advocating for her clients.
Ms. Yang is a longtime volunteer for Chinatown Pro Bono Legal Clinic, providing legal counsel to low-income clients in the Chinese community, and volunteers with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Site Based Mentoring Program. She is also the co-founder and co-chair for Lawyers Helping Our Community, a special legal clinic under Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS) that addresses the unique legal challenges faced by small business owners and individuals in Asian American communities. Founded in June 2020, the legal clinic has been featured in major media outlets.
Ms. Yang received her law degree from the University of Chicago Law School and her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley.
Ms. Yang is a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese and has an intermediate proficiency in German.
