In keeping with our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we established the Vedder Price 1L Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship in 2005.
This Scholarship provides a $10,000 monetary award (less any applicable withholdings and taxes) for law school-related expenses and a guaranteed summer associate position in our Summer Associate Program after the scholarship recipient’s first year of law school. To receive the scholarship, the recipient must join the upcoming Summer Associate Program and the monetary award will be paid at the start of the program.
The scholarship recipients work within all of Vedder Price’s practice areas: Global Transportation Finance, Finance & Transactions, Corporate, Labor & Employment and Litigation. This is an exciting opportunity to gain first-hand experience working in multiple practices as you look ahead to your 2L year. While students from all law schools are welcome to apply, we ask that applicants have a geographic tie to the Chicago area.
To be eligible for the two 1L scholarships available, you must be a first-year law student (Class of 2026) who is a person of color, LGBTQ+, a person with a disability or a person whose background or experience would contribute to the diversity of Vedder Price and the legal profession.
Application information regarding the 2024 1L Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship program will be available shortly. Applications will first be accepted on December 1, 2023.
