Vedder Thinking | Events Deborah Lu to Present on New Patent and Trademark Office Procedures under the AIA at the 7th Annual Paragraph IV Disputes Conference
May 06, 2013
Deborah L. Lu, Ph.D., a Vedder Price Shareholder and member of the firm’s Intellectual Property group, will speak at the American Conference Institute’s Paragraph IV Disputes Conference, May 7–8, 2013 in New York City. Her workshop, entitled “Assessing the Impact of New PTO Procedures under the AIA on Paragraph IV Litigation” will cover a wide range of issues related to the recent full implementation of the America Invents Act—including those having to do with third-party pre-issuance submissions, supplemental proceedings, and post-grant reviews.
Dr. Lu and her fellow speakers will also explore the scope of inter partes reviews for pending prior and new procedures under sections 102 and 103 of the U.S. Code, patent challengers’ burden of proof, and procedures for patent challengers and holders under Hatch-Waxman scenarios.
