Vedder Price Shareholders Deborah Lu and Rebecca Rudich will present at Practising Law Institute’s (PLI) Advanced Patent Prosecution Workshop 2014: Claim Drafting & Amendment Writing on July 17–18, 2014 in New York. The program will provide guidance on the America Invents Act and its implementation by the Patent and Trademark Office, including the new post-grant review and inter partes review systems.
Ms. Rudich will present on electromechanical patents, which will include discussion of post-KSR decisions and the use of means-plus-function claims. Dr. Lu will present on strategies for traversing Chemical/Pharmaceutical restriction requirements, minimizing prosecution history estoppel strategies for traversing restriction requirements, minimizing prosecution history estoppel and responding to obviousness rejections in view of KSR and the new PTO guidelines.PLI’s Advanced Patent Prosecution Workshop is a two-day program providing a unique opportunity to receive hands-on drafting experience under the guidance of experienced patent prosecutors.
