The article provides an analysis of the critical provisions relating to de-registration and export remedies detailed in the Cape Town Convention on Interests in Mobile Equipment and its Aircraft Protocol ("Convention" and "Protocol," respectively). The article also raises questions surrounding the use of the Irrevocable De-registration and Export Request Authorization, as well as identifies areas where a broader interpretation of the Convention and Protocol’s goals may be required in order to be effective.
